Keep in mind that the creepy ones are somewhat hard to pull off. If you're near an airtag for too long, you get a warning on your phone about it and have the ability to kill it or make it ping audibly.

The annoying thing is that AirTags can't be shared. We put them on dog collars, which means that I get the "you're being stalked" message every day. I recommend them even to people who already have a GPS collar - most GPS collars have extremely limited battery life (think days or even hours away from home). AirTags last a couple years. It's pretty unlikely that you'll be caught out by a dead AirTag battery.

We have two Apple AirTags. One is assigned to my iPhone the other to my wife’s iPhone. Right now they are in our cars but when we travel they go into our luggage to track the bags in transit.

Interesting. Was actually considering buying some airtags the other day for: wallet, dog, luggage etc. Hadn't considered the "you're being stalked" issue though. That could be annoying.
