Compared with bmws latest interiors the 992 almost looks retro in comparison. I think the reality is that idrive 8 would be easier to live with on a daily basis due to its better responsiveness and configurability. Not a fan of the latest graphics though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The only thing I don’t like about id8 is the gauges. Would be such a simple fix

is it the virtual design of the gauges or the actual digital screen gauges themselves? If it is the virtual / gauge style, you may find a design you like better using BIMMERCODE. I switched the X5 gauge cluster to the M version and it looks generally better. There were 5 or 6 different pre-progammed styles including the Alpina cluster. I would assume its similar for the 2er.

I'm not sure what I could do car-wise to have more adrenaline / fun / terror than that. I was tempted by the Porsche 928 (a car I'd desired for years) but good ones were hard to find, and the fact that most sellers have a spare rolling chassis + boxes of parts is pretty scary. I still have my 2003 325 Touring as a daily driver (or what passes for a DD in the work-from-home era) and I really have no interest in replacing it with anything else. It regularly goes cross-country, too. Although all of the things I added to it (Bluetooth, Phatbox, etc.) were leading-edge or beyond at the time, they're now commonplace. But they come with ginormous touchscreens and other stuff I don't want. And if want the self-driving experience I'll call an Uber. |
