Things are progressing.... and progressing,

The green line is after a new exhaust was fitted (orange line was previous one - I think... either way there is a new exhaust that increases the HP/Torque compared to before).

These numbers are at the rear wheels.

I hope to be going down in a couple of weeks to 'borrow' the car for a few days and about 300 miles.

Weather is making doing that an (unexpected) challenge.....
Stay tuned....

Correction - The orange line is the new exhaust installed, but with the tuning optomized for the earlier exhaust. The orange line would have been even lower if the more restrictive exhaust was still there (for comparison)

I fly down Saturday AM to take the car for an extended test drive. I'll have it through to Monday AM when I give the car back to them and then fly back to Seattle.
I'll be staying at my brothers Sat and Sun nights. He lives across the highway from Laguna Seca (near where my parents lived after I moved to Seattle).
Should be lots of fun country roads to (re)discover and have fun with. It's been ages since I have gone tooling around rural Monterey County. I will also be picking up my sister-in-law (Brian's wife) from SJC Sunday evening.

The car is (as described) all finished. Should be - it's only been... 5 and a half years. LOL

After that - they will fix whatever needs to be done and then... wait for me to get down there with my trailer to take it north.

I will be taking the E23 down (trading the 728i for the CS).
The E23 had a few things that need attention - and Don knows these cars very well...
So - they will address those things and I will fly down later in the summer and drive that car north. Should be a fun road trip.

Kudos to you for your patience…. I would have gone insane over 5 years! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after spending some time with it.

We are all excited. We’ve been waiting for this a long time!

And, begging the question, why would there be ANYTHING left to sort out at this point?

I know - the folks in the shop have been driving it for a few weeks now (off and on). It's been from Alameda to SJ twice (once for each dyno run) - and around the local area.

Still - Driving it for 3 or 4 hours straight may bring up some things that they did not find. Plus - the house call distance is a bit much. I am also not quite ready for it to be in the shop, but I can go down and shake it around a bit to see how it does.

Back from the test drive...

Car drove good. Some issues... All told, about 45 of them. LOL
Will be getting new driveline... and some other parts will be replaced. And some things fixed... and adjusted... and cleaned and... Yeah - just a few.

I did not have the best time as there were things that I found that I was not expecting to find.

To that end - There is a 45 item list they have for things to be addressed and I will probably be back down for another drive (this one probably only a day - not three days like I had this time).

And then probably still come down later in the summer to get the car and take it north.
