26mm out is quite significant. And no, do not shave hubs. What is wrong with your current set?

Yep, I was just hoping there would be a doable solution to make these work, but clearly its not a good idea.

Nothing is wrong with my current set. I just really like the look of Sport Classics on the 991. Unfortunately, they only made them in wide body fitment unless i want the black inners of the 50th anniversary cars (which I guess I could get and have the black section refinished, but that just starts getting silly expensive).

on the bmw e91 wagon, how much of a downside would it be going from 225/45R17 to 225/45R18 same offset. I did the calc and it is a 4% difference in diameter, and the speedo "error" would be as follows:

Actual Reading
20.8 20
52 50
93.6 90

With BMW speedometers reading slow anyway, would that delta be a big deal? I'm thinking it would be pretty close to making the speedo read correctly.

Fine for the speedo, but I’d be concerned about rubbing.
