Unless the new one is a lot heavier than the old one, 50 or so more hp isn't really what the car needs. I mean more power is always more better, but a lot of power is something the F80 is already pretty good on.

The G20 is over 100lbs lighter than the F30, apparently. I assume that the G80 won't be dramatically heavier. Presumably the weight savings gets eaten by the AWD components in the standard variant.

Ha! My guesses were pretty close. I actually would have expected the high end number to be closer to 520hp, since the Alfa QV and C63S AMG were at >500hp years ago.

But I agree. 444hp is more than enough for the F80. More power is not the issue.

Agreed ... grip to handle the power is an issue though I read on the Competition they improved it and with the new model having AWD that will resolve that issue as well.

Maybe it will get a little boost for the M3? I agree 520 would make sense. Though again it absolutely doesn't need it.

I've read that the Competition package on the F80s puts the power down better than the "base" cars like mine, but I haven't dug into it enough to figure out what the differences are. My car is definitely a little squirrely under hard acceleration, but honestly it's a nice contrast to the clinical, near perfect thrust of the Model 3.

Don’t kid yourself, most new cars are clinical.
