What does the ti in 318ti stand for?

Er, 2002 tii.

But, yes, the "ti" was for "touring international" then the second "i" was for injection (again).

BTW, wtf does "touring" mean in regard to vehicles anyway? "Car you might want to take on a trip"? BMW uses it primarily for its wagons, but also the occasional hatch. Other manufactures use it for other things (but I'm currently drawing blank and can't remember the examples that I know exist. ops: )
