Autox sites closing.....

This year, three local clubs have lost their autox sites: Poughkeepsie (out of NY), Cart and Fairfield County Sports Car Club here in CT.

A couple of years ago, Westchester (NY) lost theirs (I don't know what they're doing now).

Fcscc has found a site, but it's now over two hours away all the way across the state, Poughkeepsie has suspended its solo2 for the time being and Cart has found a temporary solution, but for members only

So, no autox this summer, I guess......I was looking forward to doing at least a couple of test and tune days to feel out the new car.

Sucks.

What is Cart and why can't you become a member?

Bren,

Cart is the Connecticut autocross club. I was a member in 2005, but the club decided to tighten its belt and enforce its membership rules, which meant attending dinner meetings at least three times a year (as well as some other requirements). Since Cart is based over an hour away, this wasn't really desirable for me, i was fine with paying the extra fee for autox's and test and tune's instead.

I suppose I could rejoin now, but something tells me it's going to be a bit tougher given the circumstances (btw, I think they were right to do this - events had become unmanageably crowded and unenjoyable).

So.......if I want to do one, I guess the two hour drive across the state is my only option - I'll try for at least one this season.

Nothing. No autocrosses.

Yeah, the lack of sites up here is a real problem. The ones we do have pretty much suck anyway.

Head down to DC for the WDCR series like me.

You'd never make it in LA. An hour away in LA rush hour is really just the next town over
