Apologies if someone already posted this YouTube before but Tedward tests a 4.0 718 Spyder with shorter gears installed.

Looks like a really nice to have for that engine in the Boxster/Caymen.

Yup and:

Additionally, I added 2-Year CPO Warranty, and 5-Year Porsche Prepaid Scheduled Maintenance. That was $9,870.

The color of that Spyder is outstanding.

And yeah, I want that gearing.

Even at Porsche dealer prices it would be hard to spend that much in repairs/maintenance during the cars first 5 years…

Considering how little these cars get driven you are basically talking about yearly oil changes.

Not really, you need to change the Brake Fluid every 2 years regardless of mileage and if memory serves me correctly the 4 year service is a big one which again I don't recall too much and no longer have my service records for the 991 but I think it was over $2,000.

I have 4,200 miles on the Cayman which is a little over 2 1/2 years old and I've done 2 oil changes and 1 brake fluid change ... I'm up to about $1,400 in service so far.

So I think for 5 years you would have 4 oil changes at around $500 each, 2 Brake Fluid changes at $350 and the major service around $2,000 comes out to approximately $4,350. + sales tax

The cost of the extra 2 years on the warranty can be pricey but not THAT pricey to cover the balance.

From what I have read an annual oil/filter service on a 997 is $250+/- so I am planning to do them myself. It is simply to easy not to. I mean if one [me] can change the oil/filter on a BMW then there is no reason not to on a 997 911.
