Fiat $16,500
Caddy $29,000
Blazer $54,000
No Longer a 356, but Maybe? $37,000
Sky $61,000

The Fiat and Caddy don't have too many comps and these examples are different enough from the ones that do exist to make them less helpful.

The 356 may have begun life as a real 356, but there's so little real 356 left in it now. It's a hodge podge former race car (with a log book showing no remarkable provenance) turned repilcar based on a bone or two of the real deal, but not very well planned or executed. Yet, it's still kind of an interesting take. Maybe. It's how much is that real bone or two actually worth?

Those three were pretty difficult to make predictions on with any level of confidence.

The Blazer and Sky were pretty easy to figure in comparison. Just need the rest of the week to find out how close or far.

I specifically picked the Caddy and the 356 because I thought they'd be tough to research.

The Fiat struck me as cool. The Blazer reminded me of a truck that a friend's dad owned, and I remember riding in that truck on a camping trip when I was somewhere between 5 and 8 years old. The Sky struck me as a neat car, though a supercharged LS7? Yikes.

The 356 is a fucking pile, but rising tides and all that. It's still a Porsche. I looked at all of the detailed photos and it's amazing just how badly executed that car is. It would have been cooler to just leave it as a vintage race car. Blemishes and rough finishes are to be excused on race cars. It wouldn't surprise me if people see that car and just assume it's a really badly-done replica. It's kind of sad.

What's more amusing is the seller's comment:

@James_Bennett: I actually restored and sold back to Vic and Barbara their SCCA 356 race car on BaT a few years back.
I wonder what that "restoration" looked like

The question I'm wondering how people are willing to answer with money is "how real does it have to be to be real enough to spend money?"

There was a long time in the muscle car world where the big money went to cars that were stock and all OE. What we now call restomods only drew a fraction of what a similar quality restoration would bring. In the last 10-15 years, well done restomods have risen in value to the point that they're their own branch and draw similar money.

This car is a shitty example, but parts of it started life as a Porsche, so...

1) Fiat: $17,600
2) Cadillac: $19,000
3) Blazer: $56,000
4) 356: $45,000
5) Mallett Sky: $53,000

I don't understand who buys the Mallett Sky? Are there Saturn enthusiasts who are just like "I want to spend a lot of money for mid aughts GM build quality BUT I do not want the good engineering that went into the Z06?"

That, and the chassis engineering under the sky and solstice is pretty excellent. Better handling car than the c6 IMO.
