I notice a lot of cars on this site have similar lines to this ... it seems a lot of cars on this site are from people buying them and then selling them shortly afterwards.

Kinda makes me think it’s either dealers who want to make a quick buck or people that buy the car and for whatever reason want to get rid of it

I think they are “dealers” in an informal way. Basically car flippers, they look for something interesting, buy it and use it for a bit while they find a buyer and then repeat. Usually don’t have a dealer license or formal business- however some states would technically require it if they sell enough cars in any given year. I know a few guys I worked with back in the day that do this and have pretty large networks from being in the business for so long, they flip older German cars. MB wagons or SLs, Porsches, etc.

Matt is probably right. 100k is a lot to spend on a car, particularly an impractical sports car. Not like the very practical electric cars that I’ve spent 100k on.

That's a horrible color and I don't get the premium that the 50th gets over the regular 991S.

I toy with the 991.1, likely S, idea once in a while, I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on one just before getting the boxster. I'd have to drive the 991.2 before though...

I can see myself getting back into a 911 some day, finance-permitting, when the kids are out of the house. I still prefer Boxsters, but an AWD 911 as a DD, sure, maybe.

I'd love a 911. I've always wanted to buy one, and am at a place where I could swing it, but I play so much music now and don't think I could even fit my electric bass in it, let alone a couple of speaker cabinets. They barely fit in my 1M. So it would have to be a secondary "fun" car, but I can't justify dropping the coin it would take on just that. So my affection remains unrequited due to practical considerations, even though said considerations don't involve regularly transporting a smaller human any more.

The 911 makes no sense at all. I’m on the record detailing how many different ways the Boxster is just dynamically better.

That written I love mine to death and it has completely killed off my car wanderlust.
