I am hyper vigilant about a lot of things. This. Is. Too. Much.
Plus, I really don’t drive that much.

That said, I have learned the importance of using ethanol-free gas for my lawn mower.

If you ever visit my house, you will find ALL the clocks (oven, microwave, TV and assorted wall clocks) are synced to the exact second. You won’t find a clock that has a different time from another.

Yeah, I'm kinda weird like that, lol.

(This is also true to the clocks in my vehicles. However, I didn't realize that the clock on my BMW is notoriously fast, about 2 minutes every time I have to change the time for daylight savings).

Yes, even ALL my wristwatches click off seconds in harmonious synchronicity, lol.

I would feel super comfortable with that.

My vigilance is moderated by my laziness.

It's so unexciting, but it's so cool.

As I was saying, if you don't have a logbook, you're an amateur.
Back when I bought gas, I used an app to track fuel and service for both the CTS and Boxster. Can’t remember which one, but it had a very quick entry — I’d out most of the stats in while pumping and just add the total gallons when grabbing the receipt…. Worked well.

Oddly the CTS and Boxster averaged almost identical MPG (right around 22) for all miles I out on both…. I still remember that I used to spend $195 per month on fuel — the average over 5 years…

As for this question, I charged up yesterday during the day. Teslafi (the data logger I use now) shows I used 27.62kWh to charge the battery from 52 to 90%. Cost was $0 since we were generating solar. It was a nice sunny day, but the car was drawing 11kW, and the house was pulling 2-6 (laundry day…), so the combined load drew a bit from the house battery about 10%. But that charged back up before sunset.

According to the onboard computer, I am consistently getting anywhere between 25 and 27 mpg, but mostly averaging in the 26 range. This is probably 80% highway (where I tend to set the cruise at 75 mph on I-80 and 60 on another secondary highway), and 20% city (where I'm getting out of my development, and driving in 1st gear in my hospital's parking garage all the way to the 5th and sometimes 6th level. I probably drive a mile everyday going up and going down that friggen place with annoying speed bumps, lol).

However, the computer is rather optimistic and is off between 0.3 to sometimes 1.0 mpg !!

Still, I'm pretty happy with the mileage I'm getting. I'll probably ride my Harley and Spyder more often this year as fuel prices continue to skyrocket, with even higher prices in the summer the experts are predicting ....

I used to track mileage in all my vehicles but I gave up on all except the Ram a couple years ago.

The most expensive fill-up to date per my Fuelio app was in the Ram, 29.343 gallons and $97.39 last June. It's a 32-gallon tank so this was way lower than I like to run it, but IIRC this was coming back from Lincoln (it says 2:21 AM) and we had stopped at two shuttered stations before finding one that was actually open. I got a little nervous with that deal.

I haven't put fuel in the Ram since January 8th.

Both of my parents kept a small log book in the glove box of cars they owned.

I use an Excel spreadsheet

The question was, what was your most expensive fuel purchase ever, so I'm not sure how your most previous electricity charge relates
