This is where it shocks me again that the current 3 series GT doesn't come with a stick. Or the wagon. The options are really slim for a small, practical, fun car that comes with a stick.

Sadly I have more issues with them not offering RWD for wagon then the slushy.

Yes, indeed. That's why I made sure to grab the last RWD wagon with the NA 6 cylinder.

Should have kept my M-sport, but at the time, I couldn't keep both it and the Turbo.

Really, I should have just bought the E90 M3.

I'm not sure which I regret more, that you sold the m-sport wagon or that lovely Boxster.

You've had some lovely cars. My big personal regret is selling the M3C. But there were reasons at the time that made sense to me. Still, it brought me delight as I was coping with the decline and death of my father, so maybe my perception is skewed. It seemed like freedom and escape at the time.

I'm not sure there is a real budget for this purchase yet. The issue with the focus RS is the awful mileage and the small tank. And the interior. But I do still kind of want us to get one.

My friend got a 2016 Golf R 6sp about a month ago and we got together today for lunch. Overall, it was a really nice car. I'd describe it as more 'petite' compared to my 135, the steering wheel was thin and hard, the shifter a little longer and notchier and less weighted, that kind of thing

It was a pleasant drive. I was able to scoot it as much as I was comfortable pushing a friends new car. It felt competent. Power was a little soggy down low and it didn't like being one gear too tall. It rev'ed very quickly once the turbo was spooled and pulled nicely towards redline. Nice thing was no sign of torque steer at all. Handling was neutral and the size made it easy to place in corners.

Interiorwise, the seat bolsters were very soft, but the support was decent. I was able to get a comfortable driving position easily. With my seat where I like, it, I could sit in the back seat fine. Visibility was good. The trunk is comically small, he mentioned the floor is a lot higher in the R than the GTI due to the AWD mechanicals underneath. It was well optioned and the gizmos/gadgets were easily laid out.

I liked it. Not nearly as much as my 1, but if you want a 4 door hatch, I'd take it.
