This week's rental....

Cool sounding V-8, decently smooth highway ride and road feel, roomy interior - albeit overladen with those fake plastic rivet looking things, but one huge design flaw.

It's like driving a friggin' blind spot on wheels. Combine a relatively tall profile, gangsta shotgun-slit window design (I know the picture doesn't look like that, but from the inside it sure feels that way), small rearview mirrors, and 3 rows of seats with large headrests, and it makes it damn near impossible to see anything around you. Lane changing last night on a crowded and fast moving I-285 in Atlanta was a crapshoot at best.

You rented a Jeep Commander?! I thought those things aren't available yet?

Didn't mean to. It's what Budget had for me when I arrived last night. Had less than 200 miles on it.

Didn't realize they were even rolling into showrooms. I dig the looks.

Huh.....judging by the size of the windows you certainly wouldn't expect visibility to be an issue.

The look nowhere near that big from the inside. Honestly, the thing is plain dangerous.

Ha! You think that's bad, try my Dad's Durango. The A pillars really mess up the visibility as they're as thick as tree trunks. On top of that he added those tinted vent shades on the doors.

Believe it or not, I've missed ENTIRE SEMI TRUCKS in the Durango's blind spot out the FRONT window.

It tows my sandrail nicely, though.

Sorry for your endurement of the rental, at least you should have run through some mud with it.
