it's nice, huh?
I love it. There is a pretty steep hill at work that I will try to climb soon. We'll see how far up I get.

Trust me, it's a lot steeper than it looks on that photo as you get towards the top. Also, it's covered in 8-10" of snow now.

You parked with all four tires touching the ground? With that giant snowbank right there?

I had plenty of room that day! The RR tire is actually on a couple of inches snow. I'm actually a good 6-8" off the ground today because of all the new snow.

Anyway, I'll try to get video of my attempt to climb the hill at lunch today.

It's no LR4, JGC, or Wrangler but I was surprised. At a few points I got the suspension crossed up enough that I lifted a tire and it kept going up hill. Ran it through that terrain several different ways trying out the approach / departure / break-over angles on the Forester. Simply smooth as butter and no scrapage.

Felt gooooooooood.

Can't wait to take it up on some Forest Service road up shooting next spring.
McLendon Hardware in Woodinville??? I have looked at that rutted shortcut from 131st to 130th more than once

I started to try driving up the hill, but got in trouble so I had to abort. I may try it this weekend.

As a side note, a few years back I came up on an accident near my house that I should have photographed but didn't. A Wrangler owner had rolled over his truck (in a half inch of snow) and was blocking part of the intersection. It didn't have one of those "if you can read this, flip me over" windshield decals but Photoshop could have taken care of that.

Reminds me of the time my father-in-law tried out his new Jeep along a muddy path on our property. He promptly got it stuck--after a turn and a slight rise to a parking area.

I backed up the X5 and gave the Jeep a slight pull with the screw-on tow hook (with the F-I-L giving a little gas in his Jeep). Voila!

Some gratification in saving a macho Jeep with an X5.

I didn't get in trouble with the car. I got in trouble with the facilities guy and he made me stop.
