I keep looking at new trucks but when I work out how much it'll cost me I lose interest.

I did that for a little over a month too. Then I went out and picked up a vette instead.

I've been truck shopping since the EcoDiesel Ram was announced.

But priced out how I would want it, the MSRP is like $50k. Makes my $9,000 truck seem a lot more appealing, even at ~12 MPG.

Thanks! drove it about 200 miles last weekend, and I am beginning to really like it. This might be the best automatic transmission I have ever driven. I don't think it is the same DCT that was in her Focus. Really smooth, and almost undetectable shifts. There is a strange noise when using the downshift paddle on the steering wheel. (plastic clicking noise that is not there on the upshift paddle) But that can wait till first service. The Mysync is much more "friendly" and usable than in her Focus too, and the Ford Nav doesn't suck.

I like that I don't have to do anything special to use the paddle shifters. In her Malibu, you had to move the shift lever in the center console into "manual" mode. In this car, you just touch a paddle, and the transmission switches to manual mode. Electric steering and feedback is very firm.

Everyone should take a test drive in one of these, but make sure you test the Titanium model. Titanium line has the tuned suspension, and the 2.0 liter ecoboost turbo.

The 19" wheel package we bought includes 245/40 Contiprocontact tires

I rented a 2.0 titanium for a week and was very impressed with it. Really natural, nicely weighted steering. Better than anything from bmw at the moment. Also feels very balanced with none of the front heavy feeling you usually find in fwd cars. Lots of torque from the 2.0 as well and a nice modern interior. Pretty good stereo too.
