It's the kind of car that I always expect Nick to build. Pick up the parts along the way when they come up cheap. Build it whenever. Never sell it.

Assumption is that it's a better dog vehicle than their current fleet (aside from the truck?), but they seem to be making it work pretty well.

In my mind, the BAT car is worth the money it will sell for, but I can't afford to pay that kind of money for a car that I can't consume (ie: not worry about driving it a-lot) without replacement.

Do you know the builder? I think I recall you posting some time ago about this car and his e46 m3 wagon build.
Yeah, Brian’s a good friend of mine, going back to the days when we both owned Pontiacs.

I can see the reluctance to drive this thing, but I know that it was driven frequently and didn’t seem to be any less reliable than the cars on which it was sourced. I agree, if you’re not going to really use it, your money might be better spent on a real M5.

Imola M5s are not common.

Is weird that they replaced the nav unit with the stock piece rather than upgrade to the later unit, though.

Needs more pictures.

If I was the owner when the NAV was replaced, I never would have stood for the trim fuck up

Wow. An older one, but I love Imola...You should get it! It'll probably go for stupid money, though.

Early on when I got my aux cable run from the back of the head unit to a factory looking plub in inside the side of the glovebox they fucked up the trim piece above the glove box. They didn’t even ask. They replaced it.

Just reviewed the listing. That’s beautiful.

I'm also glad it sold for that much, as I have no ability to regret letting it slip away. So far out of my price range it just becomes another exotic to fantasize about.

Holy crap. Looks like S62 swaps done right can bring the money.

On another Frankenstein car note, not sure why but I totally dig this Audi build. The inline five always sounds fantastic and the lines on the old coupe are so cool.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-audi-coupe/

Looks like VW tried for with the Corrado but failed.
