E46 M3 Mirror Died

Yesterday, got into the car and the mirror had a huge bubble in the electrochemical fluid. Luckily no leaks.

I looked on BimmerFest and found info about a company that repairs them.

http://www.sybesmas.com/home.html

I got word form them, $95 for repairing mine. They do not have a trade in stock, so I have to send mine in and wait for them to repair. The $95 includes return shipping.

Nice thing is, the mirror from the LTW fits, so I have a mirror while this is off being fixed.

Yeah, I've sent two mirrors to Sybesmas. Kind of annoying that the original manufacturer has stopped paying for the repairs.

Yeah, mine has been screwed up for a while too.

I've been considering replacing it with a later model with homelink and compass

Remove it before it leaks. It'll eat your trim.

Yeah, I was worried about the leaking.

Does the Sybesmas repair hold up better than stock?

Although, 10 years is not too bad on the original.

The repair should be permanent. There's no liquid to leak out.

Cool.

May think about doing the Roadster mirror this winter instead of waiting for it to leak.

Huh. It's been messed up for a pretty long time - like over a year. No leaks yet.

You never know when it might leak out. But do you want to risk replacing the enter console trim/dash because you waited too long?

I'm deeply ambivalent about it. If the mirror that I stole out the the race car hadn't had a bit of a vibration problem, I probably wouldn't have bothered.
