I've driven a Corvette of that era, and "fun to drive" aren't exactly the words I'd use. Though if you want to make a mid-90s Mustang feel excitingly futuristic, it's a good reference point.

They are "fun to drive" but not in the way a Boxster is.

A '32 Ford isn't truly fun to drive in the modern sense either; that doesn't stop people from building them literally from scratch today. I'd love a mid-year Vette, but I'm pretty sure I would drive it rather differently than my M3.

Exactly.

I had muscle cars growing up. Heavy no turning no braking sleds. But fun in a different way.
