Can someone help explain to me how come it doesn't fit right. Do I have to drill holes into my strut tower to make it fit?

That's not even attached to anything nor is there any way to attach it. That is stupid. It's just a bunch of mangled metal laying on the engine bay.

Psst, mbr...

That's an x-brace. It is a popular add-on for the E36s (the E46 already has it). It mounts BELOW the engine area on the underside of the car.

Yeah, it's a little funnier when you know what it's really supposed to be.

A little more elaboration for the nerdy: That part is an OEM subframe brace that was installed on E36 convertibles. M3 owners (and, I guess, oher E36 owners) will often install them to stiffen the chassis a bit.

I just love some of the responses to him:

Good luck with that Paul.

Let me know how it turns out I really want to get rid of my body roll.

I knew it was an OEM brace of some sort, it just pretty obviously does not belong where it is.

Thanks for enlightening me, though. Must be tricky to install.

Oh, man, that's some seriously funny shit.

Still doesn't compare to the "Jet Fockin' Black" thread, though.
