OK, so let's play pick-a-plate for *my* Tesla.
I'm not entirely sold on the vanity plate thing, but it's kind of fun to play around with. Saw a DC tagged Model S with "AC DC" last night, but unfortunately that's taken in VA. So is BATTCAR, which is kind of cute. COALPWR or some variation is a possibility, but it's a self-deprecating joke that I'm worried would be taken seriously--the whole "war on coal" thing is kind of a hot button issue. I also like EDSN SUX, but when push comes to shove I don't really want even mild vulgarity on my license plate. OHM FUTL is a possibility, but a) is well into powerdork territory, and b) I'm not sure anyone would get it, anyway. I've reserved a couple that are available (you can do that for 90 days w/o cost): ALT CRNT and ZUKUNFT I kind of like the last one, because it's a tweak to the German car industry. That might be the front runner right now. |

FWIW, I didn't go with a personalized plate on my Tesla... I had one for the first time earlier this year on the Boxster, and decided I really didn't like the vanity thing, so just kept the number plate I was given.
COALPWR is pretty funny -- but there are some pretty extreme environmentalists that might not take too kindly to an EV with that plate... KWH2MPH was my top choice -- and was still avail in AZ at least a few months ago. Maybe I should still go for it (it would cost $125 since I have a 5 year registration on my car -- vanity plates are $25/year). THINKON was my 2nd choice. I'm of Scottish decent, and that is the clan motto for my last name (or at least the proper Scotts spelling, I have a slightly Americanized version). It also would fit well with an EV -- combines forward thinking with having to power on an electric car (vs starting up an ICE)...

I wouldn't want the word "Camry" anywhere on my Tesla...
But... you could get "03 Camry"... Its taken in AZ, but might be avail in VA... Might give people a double take -- and you could say you upgraded your car, but kept the plate...

Saw a Tesla on the way home tonight, plate read "0 gas", and I've also seen "bye ice."
