I would only sell that car via rennlist, pca or similar crowd. Carvana, vroom etc are going to miss the run up in boxster prices, especially with the desirable 6MT/9A1 combination. I'm not following the market and no idea on valuation. Regardless, I would not consider any value less than starting with a 3. I used to think mine was around mid-40's but based on my research a few months ago, I would have to be 50 minimum. I'd say mid-30's for yours. You're not in a rush to sell.

Mid 30s for a car with 80K miles is possible, but I don't think the market is quite there yet. OTOH, the 6MT/9A1 cars are rare enough that it's really hard to find comps, so who knows? I'm sure JV's car presents better than 90 percent of the cars out there, even with higher miles, so he could certainly list it for 35 and see what happens.

I think it's been well cared-for, but it's got some typical sandblasting in the wheel wells behind each wheel, a ding over the passenger's side quarter panel and some flaking clear on the wheel lips from tire changes. If it were really mint I could see listing it for mid 30's but I don't anticipate much interest at that level given the mileage. Porsche snobs are odd. If a car has too low of mileage, they get suspicious. But if it has more than 60k it's like the car has no value anymore

Marisa and I talked about it last night and she doesn't really want the car to go, but she agrees it doesn't make sense to keep it given how little we use it. Since this time in 2018 I've put less than 14,000 miles on it. If the weather is nice next week I'll drive it to work and see if that creates any pain at the thought of selling it.

Hm, I bought mine with 30,000 miles on it and today it has 53 and change.

That was 11 years ago.

Yeah, 4,500+ miles a year for a "third" car role is nowhere close to nothing or "we never use it."

"I've driven the car twice this year," in late April is a little more damning, perhaps. But the past 13 months are also abnormal. In five months, I've put about 2500 miles on the Camaro, which is a 6,000 mile/year pace...and that car is my "daily driver."

If you like, I'd gladly drive it to California for you, offroad for a bit in the Mojave, and bring it back.

This is a somewhat popular spot for car commercials:

A year after this picture (2016) the BLM placed large boulders across the trail. I was mentioning this to someone who commented that works for a car manufacturer, and they said "But... We always used a helicopter to get the cars up there!"

My GPS said "You should not be here":

Thought the same thing. That’s heavy mileage by my standards. My 2017 2 has 16k miles on it in 4+ years. And it was my primary car for most of that. Admittedly, I’ve worked from home the entire time. Kind of like a COVID scenario. Although, there have been some vacation trips of 4-6 hours each way.

That said, my car is probably not worth much more than JV’s...

I mean, we bought the Mazdaspeed new in 2009. It just rolled over 210,000 on my way home from work today. The Ram has 114,000.

You definitely drive a lot (or don't live particularly close to where you go often). I think 14k miles is a pretty big number for a third car since 2018.

I've only put ~5k miles total on my FR-S since 2018 as a "second" car.

I don't have good suggestion, but would you miss it? If yes, then it's probably not time to sell?
