No heat (Outback)

We took the twice wrecked, multiple curbs jumped, 120k mile 2013 Outback to Connecticut this weekend, leaving DC rush hour Friday evening because we wanted to be sure of traffic hell. We got that wrong since there was barely any traffic north of the Baltimore Beltway, so, yay!

Somewhere in Delaware, my wife tried turning on the heat. No heat. She does not recall trying to use the heat thus far this season, so she doesn't know if it's been out for a while or not.

No smell of coolant, no visible leaks or anything else amiss. No real opportunity to try burping the radiator. Guessing it's an air pocket or the thermostat is done. Does that sound right?

no heat at all, I would guess heater valve or blocked line.

bad thermostat, and the car would heat up slowly. likewise, an air pocket isn’t likely to completely kill the heat
