Only one year in, but I feel that way about the 2. E46 M3C might be a tie, but a much harsher daily driver.

I love my 740's... The '95 earlier - now with the '01 iL.

I just sunk a bunch of $$ into the engine on the 2001 - and drives great (just like I remembered it to when new). Will keep it for another 100,000 miles. It has a bit over 200k now.... Even if I were to loose the transmission - I'll fix it and keep it going. It is not about the $$- it is about driving what I like.
(and yes, Ted - your M5 is still on my mind... Maybe.... who knows - if you ever find its replacement that is - )

Between the two cars - I put tons of miles on E38's.
180k and 80k on each respectively - with the '95 having 240k when I sold it and the 2001 at 205k now.

All I need is a small, 2-door vert to complete my fleet.

That said, I went to the Reno Auto Show yesterday to check out some cars. Was surprised to see that a new Nissan 370Z was only $30,000.

Hmmmm....
