There is little wrong with having an e39 m5. 2000's are less desirable and the miles aren't low, but for the right price, that'd be a great car.

Exactly. I’m right on that same line with all maintenance done as soon as it happens but with 102k on the clock I can’t expect to much. Then again ones not so nice with needs are still going for $16-17.

I love the Imola M5, but the red in the interior kills it for me. Also people would think I have some sort of unhealthy obsession with the color red...

No. Mostly under 75k 02,03’s with no current issue cars seem to go for more. Take a look at the sales history on BaT.

if you are not going to put a lot of miles on it I would get a nicer lower mileage like Theo mentioned.

In a reasonable world, that would be a sub-$20k car. At this point of $36k e36 m3 sedans, low mileage but otherwise not special, I have no idea what anything is *worth* anymore.
