$300,000. Is any car worth it?

From any angle, such as driving experience or future value.

I know McLaren’s are universally panned because of the lack of reliability and then the lack of spare parts.

I see that 922 GT3s are now in the CPO market and asking $300,000.

This seems like a ridiculous question. And it is — but just wanted some thoughts.

Short answer: Only if you're rich enough that $300k doesn't really matter to you.

For some people, $300,000 is mere pocket change.

I envy guys like Robert Herjavec or Jay Leno, who are filthy rich and true car guys that they can purchase McLarens, Bugattis and other exotics without blinking an eye.

Must be nice ....

For a lot of $300k cars, its 'merely' a cashflow thing too. Can you have that amount of money tied up in an asset for the period of time you want to own it. Depending on what you buy, depreciation is minimal / positive when you sell it (with associated investment risks).

The opposite value curve from a 911.
