Selling M3

I am pretty sure I want to sell the M3.

I just checked and Carvana's offer is down to $53k and change. It surprised how low that is. I checked GivemetheVIN and I got 60k, what I gotten a couple of weeks ago.

Should I just sell it to them?

My car is mint and I feel not being fully appreciated by their algorithm, but I also know I have the less desirable moonroof and dealing with tire kickers and trusting a big check forma stranger are pretty big negatives. I am not sure I could beat the 60k by enough to make it worth the effort.

Part of me says take the $60k now and run.

It seems asking prices are all over the place.

My car has just over 12k miles.

We are almost certainly past peak overall, but some models are still at/near their peak.

If I were you, I'd take the car to a couple dealers for offers. There's a reasonable chance one or more will beat that offer.

It's what you feel like you know what it should be worth wholesale and retail, and how much time/effort/risk it will take to get that retail value.

I guess my concern is that Carvana has come down 3k and that maybe others will start coming down as well. But the idea of taking to the dealer is a good one. I imagine I should limit myself to BMW dealers - who among other things, can CPO it.

Yes, approach the used car mangers at various BMW Centers. Valid point re CPO via a BMW Center.

BMW is still fairly constrained for new vehicles so used BMWs should still be high.

If you’re going to sell the car, taking 60 and running seems like a very reasonable idea.

I can’t remember where you are in your plans, but I also wouldn’t expect to get a new car anytime soon.
