Dealer needed inventory now, and wasn’t so worried about a while from now.

I also suspect that F-450 demand is lower than 350. You don’t see a lot of those on the road in non-commercial spec.

Lease incentives (cash, elevated residuals, etc) are also non-existent. Tough time to buy a new car.

I’m getting monthly mailers from my BMW dealer trying to get me out of the current X5 and into another one. It’s laughable how bad the deals are right now, the only saving grace that makes the deal not absolutely atrocious is the equity in my current car (currently +$15k… have never experienced this in a BMW lease) if I rolled that it. At this point though still leaning towards just buying out this lease and keeping it another year or two until things settle a bit.
Same experience here. Last I checked, our X7 with 12k miles appears to be worth about 15K more than I PAID for it 14 months ago.

Do you guys want to play guess where I wind up?

I'm going to BMW of Lancaster tomorrow to try to swap my e450 for this x5:
https://www.faulknerbmw.com/inventor...cr6c50kll04491

For reference, this is the for sale thread of my e450:
https://mbworld.org/forums/market/830465

Our wagon is a 2019 w/ 30,400 miles and was $88,300 new

The X5 is a CPO 2019 w/ 27,776 miles and was $82,820 new.

My personal goal is to swap my car + less than $3k for the x5 + some accesories (rubber mats and cargo liner). I've not worked with this dealership before, so I really don't know what to expect or how it will play out. I did get a recommendation from another BMW board for a sales advisor from a guy that is a repeat buyer of M cars there, so I'm not totally blind.

Anybody want to guess any predictions?

Can’t remember if you said this before - do you have recent quotes on the wagon from Carvana, Vroom, CarMax, etc? How about KBB Instant Cash Offer? Would give you good idea on a reasonable trade offer.

It's a bit of a tough call, given that SUVs are wildly more popular than wagons...Strong spec on the X5, too.

It is an early production of the G05. No concerns about that? My folks held off for a year specifically because of first year production issues and there were several initially. They ordered an early 2020 MY in the fall of 2019. So far it has been flawless, (edit) but within two years my mother has only put 6k miles on it.

I thought about the new platform concern a bit, but its a late december build so there was ~6 months of production prior to this one being built. Plus it will be replacing the mercedes, which I had no visibility to quality control prior to blindly jumping in on (it's been good). The CPO warranty also gives me a little more confidence that I can get anything worked out without too much hassle/ cost.

G05 production began in August of 2018. I would definitely inquire if it was a BMW NA buy back as there were quite a few. *Never mind, I just saw the free CarFax. It appears to be a lease turn-in.

Edit: FYI, any BMW Center can access the warranty history, but it is considered confidential information.

A plus, it was not assembled on a Friday. lol

I spoke to the sales advisor that was recommended to me and that particular car "sold over the weekend". They have more coming in on trade this week, and we'll see if anything is instersting.

It does give my wife and I a chance to go down to our more local dealership and compare G05 X5s in I6 and V8 configs and X3M4.0 to figure out what she really wants with no pressure.

I wouldn't expect anything to stay on the lot more that 24 hours in a desirable configuration right now. I was wondering about that when you mentioned it.
