Eh. It requires a pretty serious interior detail, but they'll come out. You have to, at an absolute minimum, pull out the front seats.

Edit: Fun fact: An accordion funnel hose works GREAT for getting into smallish crevices like the inside of the door. That's one reason why I do this myself - I know damned well that no one will clean up that shit as well as I will.

And yeah, I generally recommend not connecting the rear defroster in an E30. If you really need it, I highly recommend a light tint just to hold the glass together when it fails.

Great! Now you tell me. Where the hell were you with this info 28 years ago when I really needed it?

J/K of course.

Riight… think the dealer would have known this. Who am I kidding? The first time ours blew it was still under factory warranty.

Looking like maybe $1K in parts / labor for the mirror unless I find a suitable one on ebay or something. That's like 15% of the car's value!

Put 62 miles on the 997 this morning. I took my 80 year old father with me. Just took the two lane back roads to BFE and back.

Edit: BTW, it pays to hide your tag info online. I had some POS get the registration info from the tag on the E30 M3 while it was in the Zentrum. He became a nuisance therefore I became a giant asshole.

Sweet!

After driving a rental Lincoln MKC all weekend, my car felt like a supercar to drive home from the airport.
