I wonder if that includes leases? People do 12 month leases on BMWs.

Saw that on another website. The conclusion was also that leases are muddying results.

My theory is, many do their research on car rags, word-of-mouth from BMW fanatics, and the BMW reputation of being "The Ultimate Driving Machine".
Then, they decide to buy the lower end BMWs and are completely turned off by how maintenance-intensive or unreliable they are when compared to other brands. After the "honeymoon" is over and when the warranty expires, they quickly get rid of it. It's a good thing I'm somewhat handy with a wrench, otherwise, I'd probably be one of those who'd get easily turned off (maintaining) BMWs and quickly trade it in.

My thought was 12 month leases, dealer loaner fleets, company cars, etc.
WRX is probably a combination of young kids who can't really afford it and the harsh reality of living with one on a daily basis for people who believed they wanted a rally car.
