If Kia, ford, Toyota, hyundai and others have figured it out I’m sure Porsche can. Not common here but there have been many models are offered like this in Europe: https://www.evanshalshaw.com/blog/hy...-transmission/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Per my friend that is a Porsche tech he does not foresee the 48v tech with the electric motor mounted on the side of the trans happening with a manual. He said he is prepared to eat crow in the event it happens, but he said look at BMW, whom by the way he was a former Master Tech with. We will know something more concrete by April/May … Edit: More 992.2 Engine Rumors: https://youtu.be/7lIUbG3L4W4?si=fLcUKkLE-2sUaVZl Last edited by SCA; 12-22-2023 at 10:07 PM. |

Yep, and per my internal source it is supposedly not the B58TU2 48v that is currently equipped in 40/M40s with an automatic. FYI, there are multiple versions of the B58.

Dial 911

Indeed time will tell. I do think Porsche will find a way of offering a manual on atkeast one of the regular 911 models (GTS would be the most logical)- they’ve learned that lesson over and over at this point. Manuals = $$$$ One interesting omission in all these rumor articles is that they don’t mention whether the NA 3.6 will be paired with a mild hybrid as well. Hard to believe it wouldn’t but just an observation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very cool - thanks for sharing. Can only imagine all the confusion this will cause in the future. Seems like they’re switching from using the “TU” + number nomenclature to distinguish evolutions of an engine family and are switching to letters instead…though in the case of the b58 both systems are in use depending on the variant. Fodder for thousands of arguments on bimmerfest im sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Otherwise it doesn’t meet Porsche’s power and acceleration standard for the 911. They never make the car worse or slower —
