I hope the base and s 718 cars follow the same curve so I can grab one near the bottom and drive it as a daily while avoiding most of the Porsche tax.
Dynamically, the 718 is tons better than the 911, of any year. I’ll always have one. I’ve always wanted a mid engine car —but it had to be reliable. So that ruled out Lotus and Ferrari and McLaren. Good old reliable Porsche does it better than anyone, IMHO.

Oh it is absolutely stupid! My friend that is a Porsche tech sent me this several months ago. He told me what book is to perform it and I want to say it was like six hours. I am not 100% certain that was number, but the next time he sends me a text I will inquire. I know it is not inexpensive.

Yeah I'm sure an experienced tech could probably knock it out in way less time than that but i'm sure it's $$$$

Oh for sure… Book is book at a dealership though. If it says it will take six hours that is what they are going to charge even if the tech bangs it out in 45 mins.

I guess that’s why the oil changes are $1000 😁

There were a bunch of older American cars where you needed to remove the engine (or at least unbolt one side and tilt it) to be able to change one or more spark plugs.

On my '95 Talon you had to pull the bumper to change a headlight (ask me how I know).

BMW likes this, too. On the E46, to change the cabin air blower the TIS notes that you may find it easier if you remove the cylinder head first.

Hey FC,

(and general FYI for WDC)

Just saw this and thought it might be another option to stop by and check out on your drive home:
https://savoymuseum.org/
Savoy has a 75 years of Porsche exhibit. About an hour north west of Atlanta

Ha- to be fair, aren't cabin fans generally a PITA to change (sometimes requiring remvoing the entire dash for example)
