No speed enforcement? Wow. The trooper assigned must have been stuck behind another Camry on his way to work.

Did you hear that they're thinking about raising the speed limit on the ICC...to 60?

I am convinced that the people that make the decisions on the ICC speed limit, tolls and enforcement strategy all drive Camrys.

Never thought of it that way, but I think that may explain why a midwestern boy like JV is so fond of it.

The speed limit on the ICC is less than 60?

Who ever said I was fond of Columbia? I live here by choice, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. And Columbia is NOTHING like the midwest.

The ICC is both ridiculous and wonderful. Wonderful because since the ICC got completed I get an additional 5 hours a week with my wife... at least. Ridiculous because it's a modern three lane road with huge merge areas, great sightlines, almost no traffic, perfect pavement and gradual curves... yet the speed limit is 55 and it's heavily patrolled. WTF?!

Those pictures look cold. There was standing ice around here the last couple mornings and a pond I drove by was frozen over. WTH? Fortunately, the coldest week in Las Vegas memory (or so I hear from people that actually have a Las Vegas memory) is over with 20 degree + temp increases today.

From what I hear, the road's automated systems look for vehicles that are "wanted" - folks with outstanding warrants, terrorists, that kind of thing. The police that patrol the road aren't county or state police - they are the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

I know that there has to be a lot more to it. But it's definitely odd.

And I can tell you I've gone past them running radar at over 75 mph on a couple of occasions and was not pulled over.
