The leather in my E36 M3 held up really well. I would have preferred cloth but seems like that was a pretty rare option.

It was most likely the guy before me then as it looked ok when I got it but wore horribly as time went on even with good care.

I suppose I am also comparing it to the other 4 BMW’s I have had which all had better results over time.
