This car should not make this sound

Anyone download the V8 Focus clip from the fest? Anyone else completely unable to process the sound of an unmuffled V8 coming from a ZX3?

OMG.

I wonder if one could put together something like this for the GRM $2005 (or $2006) challenge? I'm guessing that ZX3s are still too expensive, even with blown/missing engines. But this is something I'd love to do.

One thing. I wouldn't name it something stupid like ZX351. I'd go for something like Hyper-Focal.

Oh, regarding the ZX3: Shiny paint not required. Just sheet metal, colors need not match. That car is best served with a Krylon job.

Well, yes. I know the official kit is not cheap. I was thinking more along the lines of a shadetree job, since there's usually a budget for quirky projects like these, and since that kind of money is probably better spent just on buying a "real" car. Still, it would be a hoot.

So, the official kit is $7K. A good 351 or built 302 could be had for far less than the 15K crate motor that Ford used in the SEMA car--$5K? Call it 24K, on the road.

I don't know, Clyde. That sounds a lot more interesting than one of those Cobra kit cars, which all seem to be driven by fat old men.

Plus, you have the extra bonus of a Ford Focus that sounds like a 1968 Mustang.
