I rented one of these during my FL vacation
2010 Chevrolet Camaro with a 3.6L V6 rated at 300 hp/273 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic with manual shift control.
One word: Impressive. For a GM product anyway. A few things stick out in my mind: (1) Brutal acceleration for a V6. With TC off, I can easily light up the rear tires. Reaching 60 mph came pretty quick. I would really, REALLY like to see what it's like driving the SS version. Moving violation galore, I imagine. (2) Steering feel is close to (dare I say, even exceeds) my BMW. I know....it almost hurt typing that statement. (3) Look-at-me styling. It seems that every time I parked somewhere, someone had a nice compliment about the car, especially the 20-somethings. And while moving, I saw some giving it a long look-see. (4) Good thing I'm not claustrophobic. Can't see sh*t looking to the outside, and I felt my hair touching the incredibly low ceiling, and I'm a pretty short guy. (5) My first experience with the shift buttons located behind the steering wheel. It would have been better if they had paddles on the steering column. Overall, it's a nice product coming from GM. Hopefully, products like this will turn the company around.
