new model year BMW euro delivery

anybody know what the earliest you can usually get the new model year with European delivery? i.e. I want a 2009, any guesses when I can get it? august or sept or later?

e90 facelift should be coming out for 2009 model year

yep, big plus for me, no more chrome mustache. My coworker just got in a slow speed accident and he said one of the chrome mustaches flew off while he was leaving

You're probably looking at an early Oct delivery to ensure an '09. When I did ED, the build date for my car was nearly a month prior to my pickup date (I picked-up in late May and my car was an April build).

Also, when I worked for BMW (in Munich), the plant did a 2 week shut-down to prep for MY changeover in mid August. New production started when the plant reopened in late August. that was back in '92, so I don't know if they still do the full shut down, or just do running changes (we did some running changes for pre-production when I was there...)

duh, forgot all those darn lazy europeans get all of august off

Now THAT would be great. After the big, square mirrors on my e46, those e90 mirrors were disconcertingly small.
