Which BMW Museum? BMW Classic NA has/had a E46 M3 GTR street version in their possession from BMW Classic AG. I am uncertain if it has returned to Germany.

I assumed Spartanburg, but didn't ask specifically. I'll do some googling and see if I can find any more info on it. The detailer mentioned the owner had four e36 ltws

When a BMW would run for 350k+ miles and you were encouraged by the manufacture to work on it yourself if you had the skill set.

Ugh, yes, but let's not forget that the 80s were a time that BMW USA was really confused about how to manage its sudden success in the States, with cars like the 325e and the L7 as proof.

Yeah. Kinda charming in a way..back when there was still a human element to marketing/product planning. Could imagine some product planner coming up with the L7, getting approval and boom new model. Now everything is so analytics/focus group based that there are rarely quirky oddball models like those.
