I guess you can't just drive it to the BMW dealer, trade it in, and let Porsche pick it up, huh?

That would be simplest for me, but I'm not sure if the Porsche dealer will want to cut a check sight unseen. They haven't even checked it out in person.

Yeah that sounds really annoying. Atleast the last leg would be in your new car though!

I think this is how it's going to go down. Much better for me!

Plot thickens. If I read the selling dealers email carefully, they say they will pay me (right around $10k after fees and what not) after they get paid.

Would you leave your car to them to deliver to the p dealer at that point? Convenience is king but Stuka-like scenarios spiral around in my mind. What if 1/1000 chance they have an accident on the way to delivering the car? Why should the porsche dealer take it or pay full price? Is it on my insurance? Maybe I should do the dirty work of driving around. Then I have only myself to blame. Well, I also have my incentives in order, as in I'm driving a briefcase of cash that belongs to me.

I'd probably drive it myself, but I'm a paranoid control freak.

Equ, which dealer on Long Island is buying the Porsche ... just curious if it’s my selling dealer.

It's South Shore. The salesman (in this case buyer) is Vlad.

Yeah, that I've posted and ruminated over it means I'm not comfortable. I haven't asked to do this legwork myself, I'm not sure they'll let me, but I also don't see how I'll get comfortable waiting a week for $10K check.

The porsche dealer is simple and upfront. The bmw dealer seems semi-willing for my business. They are not making anything on trade or financing, they are probably making a couple of K on the sale and it's just not that motivating for them.
