That would be great.

Not for awhile. But, makes perfect sense and is something I would seriously consider.

Sounds like the earliest it would happen is with the Golf 9. Reading between the lines I think they are re-thinking their strategy of separating their combustion and EV cars into separate model lines (ID3-7 vs Golf, Arteon, etc). I kinda wish they sold the ID3 here...they look cool.

On another note, now that I'm considering a GTI I'm starting to try to interact more with VW dealers. Not impressive so far. Just getting anyone to respond to emails is like pulling teeth-- atleast BMW and Audi dealers were good about responding.

After spending some more time in my Mom's 7.5, I was struck by what seems like a strange imbalance between LOTS of road noise and fairly little wind noise. It was kind of strange.

A buddy of mine had a Mk7 for a number of years and it had a ton of tire roar from the (stock) Pirellis, around the time they were roughly half-worn. Swapping to new tires (no idea what he swapped to) eliminated the problem.

I been admiring how quiet my GTI is at freeway speeds but that is compared to a 4runner running AT tires. I am running PS AS so that might help with noise on the GTI.

Yeah, had the same experience with my Mk 6 Golf R—the Pirellis got loud as hell while they still had about 50 percent life left. Switching to Michelins fixed it.
