I think the trick to them is a lot of the stuff that gets you excited is already sold or pending sale.

I think $52k is on the high side for a 2007 not that I've checked prices out on the 997's ... I got $44k for a 2008 with I think I had around 10k to 11k miles though mine wasn't an 'S' it was a perfect car and BTW this was 4 1/2 years ago.

But Pcar price madness has gotten way worse in those 4.5 years.

This. Porsche prices from 5 years ago aren't relevant to anything except your regrets about the cars you didn't buy.
