Hopefully all that Toyota R&D makes the B58 a much more reliable engine. I’ve heard some stories that suggest that Toyota significantly reengineered it to make the reliability acceptable for the Supra. One can only hope that that flowed back to the BMW engines.

I didn't know that Toyota had input into the B58. I didn't realize their partnership went back far enough, the b58 was delivered in late 2015 if not earlier for MY2016 so must have been in the works for some time.
