MB's I used to like and how little they are worth now

Just taking a stroll on ebay and looked up a few cars I used to lust after when I was young and stupid. They still tug at me for incomprehensible reasons.

R129 '01 SL600 Silver Arrow

'98 C43 AMG

And the coolest one, '86 190E 2.3-16V

Yeah, they milked that design for WAY too long. It came out in '89 as a '90 model.

Funny, in 1990 the SL500 had an MSRP of $100K. By the late 90's it had MANY improvements and they dropped the price to $80K (but not on the SL600 which continued to sell for $125K).

If you want a nice V12, that's the way to go though. You can get a 130K+ car that's onlya few years old for under $40K now.

I will always regret not forking out (I mean, begging my dad to loan me) the extra few K's to buy one of those in '00 instead of the slushy 2.6.

Whoa, an overweight, underpowered, poorer-handling and less cool-looking E30 M3! Sweet!

That I disagree with. I'm with you on everything else.

Not saying I want one now, just that given that I was an MB fanboi back then, I really, really should have gone for that vs the slushie 2.6.

Wow, that Nardi steering wheel looks really out-of-place. That car is too new to sport that wheel. That would be out of place in my car.

I still like the C43. I was looking at them about 6 months ago as a second car. There are still some nice ones out there.

My gf's father has a 2001 SL500 with the AMG appearance package. It has like 20k miles on it. It's nice, but definitely feels like and early '90s car.
