Another car, another saga involving spare tires...
The Mark VI R and the Mark VII GTI both come with a spare, as do the Mark VII Rs in the rest of the world. So it's omission in the US is puzzling, but fortunately also fixable. Also fortunate--some of the fanatics over on Vortex have already figured all of this out. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...150519?page=68 This list is both incredibly helpful and certifiably insane. So I ordered some parts from the Latvian website referenced in the post. We'll see what I get. |

I've thought about this issue with my M3. The tire repair kit in my car is almost certainly expired, and I'm not sure what I'll buy to replace it. I was thinking about just putting a plug kit in there with a pump; it doesn't look like any spare tire options would preserve the trunk space or flat floor.

Who would ever think we need to worry about getting spares but unfortunately some brands are just not offering them.
I think a Spare is very important ... I am willing to bet I am probably one of the very few people in the USA with a spare tire in an R8 ... I jumped on the chance when one of the only times I saw one offered on an R8 board and my understanding is they are impossible to get ... Got one for the 991 as well (the red one) EDIT just looked at my pics I guess its pretty obvious which one is the 911 Last edited by Alan; 04-08-2017 at 07:13 PM. |

Huh. So how many people on this board other than AF have multiple frunks?
JST I guess, right? Anyone else?

I've had multiple frunks, just not simultaneously ;-)
And just to dispel the frunk & spare tire correlation, neither of my frunk vehicles have or had spare tires

Multiple frunks (996, 987.1S, 997.2, 987.2S, GT4, 981S). Every single one except the GT4 (which I only had for 1200 miles) has been adorned with a spare. |
