ALMS at Lime Rock pics

Yesterday, equ, his girlfriend and I met at Lime Rock for a day of ALMS racing.

It was jam-packed and hot as hell, but it was also the first race to be run on the "new" surface and layout.

We had a great day!

Here are a few pics, the rest of the set is here:

Nice pics, Ed. I see that you've really played well with the shutter speeds...

I have a pic of the Hankook girl from the front. I'll have to get around to posting it.

Thanks guys.

The shutter speed/pan thing is really tough to get, I wasn't too successful as most of my shots look like the two cars side by side - much too sharp and frozen in place, in some of these, the things look like they could be parked out there.

I needed to bracket more shots with different shutter speeds, I was either too slow or too fast - need to find that sweet spot where there's just enough blur and a feeling of motion.

I do like the shot of the Ferrari with the rear in focus and the front out, but I needed to practice more where the TDI shot was taken - on the "inside radius" of a corner where you can sort of pan with the car and keep the whole thing parallel to you (the car stays the same size throughout the pan).

Cool pics...

I'll post some shots from yesterday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed when I get a chance...
