I picked a number at random. The same point can be made at 55, or whatever the speed limit is down there in geezerville. Stopping distance on dry pavement is VERY relevant, even in winter. |

If your random number had been more reasonable, I likely wouldn't have responded at all. But since you chose "90"... |

90 is very reasonable on clear highways. 89 is even within 20 of the speed limit in a lot of places. Speed does not necessarily equal "less safe." I can't believe we are having this discussion on a car board. Oh, and the snow tires I had were fine for stopping power on dry roads and had fine snow traction. Maybe I just didn't feel the squishy.
They were rated for at least 135 mph. I never had any reason to doubt that rating (although I never hit it, either). |

i voted for the Dunlops because i'd like another datapoint for this coming winter.
:-D. i'm running the blizzaks, so i'd rather you ran something else so we can compare notes (braking in the snow, mostly).

how was your M3 with the snows? did you get around okay and put the power down decently?
the V is such a tank it will not brake well and it sure as hell probably will take some doing to get moving from a standstill. i naively hope snow tires help, but i doubt it.
