That’s interesting about the formula change.

I just got back from a 350ish mile trip in a lot of rain in the Porsche, and the P Zeros really don’t inspire confidence in the wet. Will be happy to be done with them.

Yeah, they seem to break away quite abruptly but that's also a characteristic of a stretched tire. It's part of why you see drifters running really stretched tires

Those are the good formula.

I just bought a set of used (looks like maybe a thousand miles) PS4S for the Mazdaspeed! Hard to argue with half price for nearly new tires.

Makes sense; the problem wasn’t really hydroplaning, it was putting the power down. Fairly easy to break the rears loose even at higher speeds with moderate throttle.

Maybe the new PS5s will be better?

I have four PS4s (not PS4S) tires in my garage…Not sure what their vintage is, but they came on my 2022 BMW. They’re 20/35/245 fronts and 20/35/255 rears, but I’ll bet the Porsche tires are wider…

Edit: Well, it’s confusing out there. It appears the PS5 tires are the successor to my PS4 tires and there is no PS5S yet?

There is no PS5S yet, nor any announcement about when the 4S will be replaced.

One of the sales reps at our local dealer recently posted this on YT. I will have to go check it out. https://youtu.be/k4_P-WdredY

Edit: my sales rep informed me that the second owner of the vehicle recently traded it in as he just scored an allocation that he had been waiting two years for and ordering 2024 Cayman GTS. He is doing a similar build to what he trade and only having to put forth an additional $12k. The one traded in has 79XX miles.

Sweet! You are catching up to me. I only have a bit over 4K on my car—more than a year in!

I wonder which car is more fun to drive,

Nice! Very exciting!

One of the positives of the PEC 1200 mile drive home is that it gets me closer to rev freedom.
