three Tesla models posted the worst performance, falling short of their advertised ranges by an average of 26%.

yep and also "Inside the Nevada team’s office, some employees celebrated canceling service appointments by putting their phones on mute and striking a metal xylophone, triggering applause from coworkers who sometimes stood on desks."

Definitely not a company i'd feel comfortable dealing with Elon or not.

For sure! Lot's of ugliness there.

But the "off by 26%" reeks of (*not a lawyer*) actionable fraud/unfair or deceptive business practices/whatever.

I mean, that is really bad and it's off by a LOT.

Let's face it: a lot of what he does and says makes no logical sense. I get the sense that he has some weird attachment to the letter "X" given "Space X", "Model X", X.com (what he wanted to name paypal), "X Æ A-Xii" (his kids name), etc. Given that he kinda acts like a 5 year old whose had too much sugar he probably thought "I own this company and I'm going to name it what i want to!!"

Haven’t seen much about the Highland, but looks like Carwow got the skinny. Overall a pretty boring refresh. No changes to power. As expected the stalks disappear, like the Model S, but I guess at least it still has a steering wheel?

Yup. Plus, the gearshift is now screen-based like the Model S... I think that would annoy me on a daily basis. I expect to see pretty much no use of turn signals from Tesla owners given the dumb position of the turn signal buttons the steering wheel. Glad to see they've backed away from yoke. Hopefully that will discourage others from following Tesla off that cliff...but i'm guessing we'll see digital gearshifts from others in the coming years. What's kind of sad/funny is that my car buying decisions now less about "wow i'm really excited about the new version of xyz" vs "hmm...maybe things will get even worse in the next gen so i should buy the current version"
