Pebble Beach Motoring Classic
My firend's father helped guard the 'fleet' last night. So, he calls over and all he says is "come check out these classic cars..." I say, ya, I would but, its kind of late so I'll have to see them some other time.
At that point, I had no idea what the PBMC was. Well, turns out, it is a fleet of antique and priceless cars. We're talking about pristine 1920's - 1930's Bentleys, Rolls', Lincolns, you name it. Fortunately, we were at a rest stop along the Avenue of the Giants, and 4 of them game in. One had a licenses plate of simply ...1... We talked to him, and it turns out he is the event planner etc.... He shows off his car, it was a late 20s (I think) Bentley Coupe. Holy shit, talk about immaculate. I only wish I could have had my camera. I truly love the old coupe and convertible antiques. |

Were they on their way to the Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend?
I'll keep my eye out for the "1" car... I'll be at Pebble on Sunday, camera in hand...

I'm back from my vacation and visit to Pebble... I didn't see the "1" car...
But I did learn a little more about the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic -- its part of the Concours d'Elegance events, and is a drive of classic cars from Seattle to Pebble a few days before the Concours, and was started ~6 years ago. A handful of the Motoring Classic cars are also entered in the Concours -- one of them took 3rd place in its class at the Concour this year.

For some pictures of the start of the trip, see http://autos.msn.com/as/minishow/pho...2&src=minishow
FYI - These pictures were taken in Kirkland at the Carillon Point. (I recognize the location - My wedding reception was at the hotel there, the Woodmark) I'll have to see if I can swing by there next year.

Your link didn't work... but I found it (EDIT this is weird -- my link is the exact same link as yours, yet yours still doesn't work for me)...
http://autos.msn.com/as/minishow/pho...2&src=minishow The white 1930 Mercedes Benz SSK and the Chrysler Ghia were both shown in the Concours also...
