On order and scheduled to be built next week

X5 50i, Space Gray with Nappa Ivory White Design Package (wife's crazy choice); MSport, DHP, etc.

Should be a nice upgrade from our current X5.

Wow, sounds sweet. You guys liked your current X5, right? How does the new one compare from a size, feel, etc perspective?

Congrats...

But good luck with the ivory white interior... My wife's Countryman has the "Polar Beige" interior which is effectively an off-white. It gets horribly dirty (and it doesn't help that she inherited her dad's tendency to never wash a car...).

Sweet!

Doesn't it come with summer tires? Will you put snows on it?

I have that same interior color on my 550 and I'm pretty sure that is the same engine ... if it is you are going to be obsessed with the power ... it is awesome !!

Congratulations, looking forward to some pictures when it comes in.

Congrats.

The MSport pkg really improves the look of the new x5.

Keep me in the loop on the old one....

Our sales guy says he was able to swap the tires at the factory for all seasons. No need for snows down here. But we'll still have our mounted snows from the current X5.

My spouse is already intoxicated by the V8 growl. She kept trying to talk herself into the 35i engine, but I kept her off that ledge.

Absolutely. We are moving next week. After that, I'll be able to focus on the sale of the old one. Just had it serviced and its winters swapped for the all seasons.

We loved the current one. It has the old sport package that actually did something (the precursor to the dynamic handling package), plus the air suspension in the back, which came with the 3rd row. It has lived really well, and is the perfect size for our family. I haven't driven the new one--except in stripper loaner form. I let my spouse drive it for the full test, as it will be her primary car. The size seems very similar to our current car, and the whole thing feels very familiar. We weren't able to test drive one with DHP, just an Msport.

I'm really going to miss our current X5. It was actually my car to begin with, in tandem with the M3. I toyed with the idea of keeping it and selling the wagon. But, that doesn't make a ton of sense. We don't need two big cars.

I had to look up the interior color choice. It looks pretty awesome, but I hope it's not too tough to keep clean! Congrats.

She's going to get some toxic, ozone-killing protectant applied. But, I'm highly skeptical.
