How about a low miles purple Chevy SS instead?

Ugh, bummer. BMW of Warwick showed both an M5 and an M550i with DHP in stock. I was willing to make the hour drive to drive them back to back but of course the M550i sold yesterday.
The guy also told me that despite the 2023 M5 having only 6k miles it has a brand new engine and is not broken in. Interesting. Anyway, no longer worth the drive. It’s a shame. It would have been a great opportunity to compare cars. |

Turns out that the local AM dealership has an LCI M5 Comp they've been trying to sell for 2 months. Zero interest in buying this one give how new/expensive it is (it's also overpriced even after dropping $4k over time). I also don't think I would want a really dark M5, whereas I would welcome it on an M550i.
But at least I can get a sense, and input from my wife, as to how acceptable the comfort of this car is (ride, insulation, seats). I'll see if I can go today, otherwise tomorrow. https://www.astonmartinboston.com/us...dr-sdn-c-1219/ |

Base price $107.9k Metallic paint $1.95k Full Merino $3.5k Competition Pkg $7.6k Exec pkg $3.45k Driver asst pkg $1.7k Wheel options $1.3k Ceramic brakes $8.5k Gas guzzler $1k Destination $1k But that car only has the comp pkg. Maybe Executive pkg? So they are on crack. That car was a $12Xk car new. Maybe even just over $120k. Maybe they think they have a strong hand because you can't buy a new one anymore and this one is a '23 with low miles? Certainly next year I should have a good selection of 2021's for ~$80k, assuming that is what I decide to get. While on the subject of cars, I built a new M340i to a decent spec and it was pushing 70k. Damn. That's what I paid for my F80. A new i4 M40i pushes $80k. |
